Janna Weinstein Named West Coast Development Director
(Washington, D.C. – March 23) Janna Weinstein of Los Angeles has been named The Washington Institute’s West Coast Regional Director of Development, the research organization announced today. She is responsible for coordinating the Institute’s outreach and fundraising efforts throughout California, the Pacific Northwest, and the broader region.
“We are delighted to have a professional of Janna’s caliber join our staff,” said Dan Heckelman, the Institute’s National Development Director. “Her 10 years of fundraising and event-planning experience on the West Coast, combined with her enthusiasm for the Institute’s mission, will not only enable her to engage our current trustees, but will help her to reach out to new supporters from San Diego to Seattle as we celebrate our 30th anniversary year.”
Before joining the Institute, Weinstein held a number of management positions at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), most recently overseeing the expansion of a multimillion-dollar annual giving campaign as the Los Angeles Area Director.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Institute, an organization that I have admired and respected for many years,” said Weinstein. “I look forward to bringing the Institute’s unparalleled expertise to a broader audience and partnering with our supporters to advance its mission."
Weinstein received her bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in political science from San Francisco State University. She succeeds Judy Cole, who retired at the end of 2014 after eight years as Regional Director.
