Washington Institute Posts Videos with Arabic Subtitles
Initiative Expands Institute’s Arabic, Persian Language Efforts
Washington, D.C – The Washington Institute for Near East Policy has issued its first five videos with Arabic subtitles in its continuing effort to provide cutting-edge research to policymakers in the United States and abroad in English, Arabic, and Persian.
“Unlike subtitles produced automatically that are often rife with errors, the Institute’s translations have been written and reviewed by native Arabic speakers,” explains Morningstar Senior Fellow Patrick Clawson, the Institute’s director of research.

The Institute has sponsored an Arabic language website since 2009 and initiated its Persian website in 2018. Since 2010, the Institute’s Fikra Forum blog, an English-Arabic platform, has published the perspectives of hundreds of Middle East writers on the most pressing issues facing the region. The Institute’s YouTube channel, which features live events and issue-oriented videos, is visited by more than 100,000 viewers every year.
