Elise Labott is an award-winning journalist covering U.S. foreign policy, national security, and global trends. Ms. Labott’s work appears in various news outlets, including POLITICO magazine, where she is currently a contributing editor. She appears as a foreign affairs analyst on MSNBC, CBS News, NPR, and other outlets. She also serves as a guest host on NPR and Sirius XM. Ms. Labott is a professor at American University’s School of International Affairs and the founder of Zivvy News, a digital platform aimed at informing and engaging a Gen Z audience. As CNN’s longtime global affairs and State Department correspondent, Ms. Labott reported from more than eighty countries, and interviewed and traveled the world with seven secretaries of state. She has reported extensively on the conflicts in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, and from the demilitarized zone on tension with North Korea and has interviewed several heads of state. Ms. Labott serves as a global ambassador for Vital Voices, a program to empower women entrepreneurs around the world, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Ms. Labott earned her BA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her from the New School for Social Research.
