Fuat Oktay has been president of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) since January 2012. An expert on aviation and automotive industries by trade, he specialized in enterprise-based crisis management during Turkey's economic crash in the early 2000s. He has also worked as vice dean and head of the Business Management Department at Beykent University, Istanbul.
