Martyn Warr is a career diplomat in Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, where he heads the Counter-DAESH Communications Cell. A specialist in counterterrorism and other security-related matters, he has been posted to Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Spain, various Gulf states, and—most recently—northern Iraq and Kurdistan, as consul-general.
