Moran Stern is an Associate Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Jewish Civilization in Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. His research focuses on the internal dynamics of insurgent organizations. He holds a PhD and an M.A. in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in International Relations, Economics, and Middle East Studies from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS), and B.A. in Philosophy and Communications from Saint Francis College, New York.
Previously, Moran taught at American University’s Center for Israel Studies. His analyses have appeared in publications such as The Atlantic, The Jerusalem Post, The Forward, Washington Jewish Week, Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, and Civil Wars. He speaks Hebrew and Arabic.
