Warren Christopher served as the 63rd secretary of state from 1993-1997, during President Bill Clinton's first term. A longtime public servant in government and philanthropic positions, Christopher served as deputy secretary of state under President Jimmy Carter and deputy attorney general under President Lyndon Johnson. From his retirement from government until his death in 2011, Christopher was a member of The Washington Institute's Board of Advisors.
