Vish Sakthivel was a 2013-14 Next Generation Fellow at The Washington Institute who focused on North African politics, particularly Islamism in Morocco, where she lived for three years. A former Peace Corps volunteer in the kingdom and fluent in Moroccan and Algerian Arabic, she is writing her doctoral dissertation at St. Antony's College, University of Oxford, on Islamist politics in Algeria. She is also a fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
